And if you have a furry pup friend, then you know just how important it is that he or she be able to enjoy the beaches just as much as you do. Dog beaches allow for our furry friends to run through the white sands, splash in the crystal clear waters, and make other pup friends.

1. Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park
Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park is located at 1200 S Crandon Blvd, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. Its hours are Monday-Sunday from 8 am-7 pm. There is an $8 fee to enter the park, but if you arrive later in the day, the price drops to only $4.
This is one of the least busy beaches in the area, so it’s a perfect spot for you and your pup if you’re looking for a nice relaxing beach day. There are several trails at this park, which is ideal for talking your pup on scenic walks. A cafe is also available when you and your pup are ready for some food!
2. South Pointe Park
South Pointe Park is located at 1 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33109. Its hours are Monday-Sunday 6 am-10 pm. There is a specific area for your pup to enjoy that’s separate from the beach.
However, you’re able to let your dog have fun on the beach itself after sunset. Dog lovers typically spend about 1 1/2 hours here with their pups. Your dog will enjoy grassy areas that border the sand.
Here your pup will enjoy diving into the ocean’s waters to cool off and then rolling around in the fluffy white sand!
3. Performance Pups
Performance Pups is located at 580 Gulfstream Way, Dania Beach, FL 33004. Its hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays from 11 am-1 pm. Tuesdays and Fridays’ hours are from 11 am-1 pm; 4 pm-6 pm and Sundays’ hours are from 3 pm-6 pm.
If your pooch isn’t a fan of the saltwater, or maybe you aren’t, there’s another option for you and that’s Performance Pups. This freshwater beach is an ideal swimming adventure for dogs. The area is kept very clean so everyone can enjoy it.
Do keep in mind that human may wade in the water, but human swimming is not permitted. There are a bit more rocks here that you’ll have to look out for, but the secluded freshwater beach is worth it. It is fenced in, so your dog can run free and play off of the leash!
There’s a $5 doggy beach fee per dog and the dock use is $7 per dog (cash only) to keep the place running as cleanly and nicely as possible.
4. Bark Park Dog Beach
Bark Park Dog Beach is located at 7900 SW 82nd Ave, Miami, FL 33155. This dog park is located inside of Tropical Park. Its hours are Monday-Sunday from 8 am- 6 pm.
Dogs are able to roam around off the leash inside the bark park. Here, your pup will enjoy meeting new doggy friends and exploring all of the nature around him or her. However, your pup must have an Animal Services issued license tag to enter the park.
Once in, your pup will have an amazing free play. When exiting the bark park, place your pup back on the leash and then explore the rest of Tropical Park together!
5. Haulover Beach Park
Haulover Beach Park is located at 10800 Collins Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33154. Its hours are Monday-Sunday from 8 am-3 pm. This dog beach has a closed-off section for smaller dogs and a section for larger dogs.
This is a great dog beach if you have a little pooch and are worried about bigger dogs being around him or her or vice versa. Here you and your dog will enjoy picnic tables, water fountains, shaded areas, and doggy waste bag dispensers. There is a $2 fee per vehicle and there is an area on the beach where dogs are allowed.
6. Perrine Wayside Park
Perrine Wayside Park is located at 16425 South Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33157. Its hours are Wednesday-Monday 8:15 am- 6 pm and Tuesdays 12 pm- 6 pm. Here, your dog will enjoy 3 acres of doggy beach sand that’s there just for dogs!
Here, you’ll find a lake and a fountain in the park where your pup can swim freely. The best thing about it is that there’s no fee to use the park. And when your pup gets thirsty, be sure to take him or her over to a doggy water fountain!
7. Hobie Island Beach Park
Hobie Island Beach Park is located at 3501 Rickenbacker Cswy, Key Biscayne, FL 33149. It’s open every day of the week for all 24 hours of each day. A great advantage of this beach is that it offers its visitors rental services for kayaks, sailboats, and more.
It’s a quiet beach with nice sand for your dog to run around in. You’ll be able to let your dog roam off the leash, but other dog owners will as well, so keep that in mind. The water is nice at this location as well, making it a great stop for water play!
8. Lummus Park
Lummus Park is located at 1130 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach, FL 33139. Its hours are Monday-Sunday 24 hours a day. These are awesome hours for a dog beach as you can take your pup here every day at any time.
Your pup must be on a leash while enjoying this beach and dog park, but it’s worth the visit. There are both picnic and sporting areas for both dogs and humans to enjoy!
